Rega Planar 10 Reference Turntable

Rega Planar 10 Reference Turntable

Rega Planar 10

Reference Turntable

Inspired by the ultimate Rega turntable, the Naiad, the Planar 10 is built around an ultra-light skeletal plinth of Tancast 8 foam core and HPL skin — the first production turntable to use ceramic bracing. Fitted with the precision RB3000 tonearm, a diamond-cut ceramic oxide platter, and the P10-PSU, it is designed to extract more information from the vinyl groove than ever before.

★ New matt white finish available from April 2023 — supplied with clear dustcover and black mat.

Engineering Detail

Ultra-Lightweight Plinth

Tancast 8 polyurethane foam core — developed for the aerospace industry — sandwiched between two layers of HPL. The result is a skeletal plinth 30% lighter than the original RP10 with increased rigidity.

DB Technology

“Mass absorbs energy — lost energy equals lost music.” A ceramic top brace and phenolic resin bottom brace form a stressed-beam assembly between the tonearm mount and main hub bearing, eliminating resonances and energy absorption.

RB3000 Tonearm

Preloaded zero-tolerance bearing assembly adjusted to less than 1/1000th of a mm. No adhesive used anywhere in construction. Hand-polished aluminium arm tube redesigned to redistribute mass and reduce bearing stress. Reads groove ridges of less than one micron.

Hub Bearing Assembly

Single-piece machined aluminium sub-platter and hardened tool steel spindle running inside a custom brass housing. Cleverly mounted within the chassis to eradicate unwanted energy transfer into the plinth.

24V Motor & EBLT Belt

Bottom-mounted synchronous motor (technique from the Naiad) removes all stress from the motor body. Each motor is hand-tuned to its custom PL10 PSU. EBLT belts use a bespoke rubber compound and F1-inspired precision tooling for perfect roundness and speed stability.

PL10 PSU

DSP generator built on a high-stability crystal divides an accurate square wave to the exact frequency required. Generates a near-perfect sinusoidal waveform to power the motor. Factory-set vibration removal and fine speed adjustment tuned per motor unit.

Technical Specifications

Turntable Dimensions (W × H × D)
420 × 115 × 350 mm (with dustcover)
P10 PSU Dimensions (W × H × D)
218 × 80 × 320 mm
Turntable Weight
4.7 kg
P10 PSU Weight
3 kg

The Heart of Music: Every component of the Planar 10 exists for one purpose — to extract more information from the vinyl groove than ever before. Inspired by the Naiad. Built for the dedicated listener.
